Default Gave up on 1011 fix, new comm board fixed it.

I got tired of looking at the iBrick on my desk so I finally bought a new comm board. It was $140 shipped from ebay. I installed it, restored the phone successfully, and software unlocked it. It's all good!

Now when someone finally comes out with a way to successfully write everything to the baseband, I'll crack that thing open again, install the old comm board, fix it and sell it on ebay.

Of course that's probably not going to happen, as nobody here is even acknowledging whether or not they're even working on a solution for all of the 1011 bricks or if it's a lost cause.

Well, the 1011 error may have been "worked around" but not all of the issues he and us are having, such as no IMEI, WIFI or Sound.

We have been able to get around the 1011 error, but we have found that somehow we are unable to restore th firmware in the baseband, we either get "bootloader too old errors" errors or "unable to download .FLS"

We think that bbupdater has to be customized to be able to write to the baseband in order to restore the IMEI and WIFI, and sound too. But we are hoping someone comes up with an app to do this.

The Dev Team has not given us any hopes about this issue, and we all want to use our iphones, that's why most of the ppl are just tired of trying and trying and waiting for a solution and have given up and decided to buy the commboard.

I have already decided to buy one, but there doesn't seem to be any on stock anywhere.

Did you also have battery charging problems when you had the 1011? My commboard seems dead as well (no sound, IMEI, ICCD, wifi), but the phone wont charge through USB either, olny through wallpower...

Do you know if the commboard also has something to do with this and does the new commboard fix this as well?

And how hard is it to replace the commboard if you've already been inside the iPhone for the hardware unlock?

NO, I dont have charging issues.
The commboard is not too hard to replace if you know how to get the case open and be careful.
I saw another post out there for these no charging issues, but haven't tried it as that was not the issue I was having.

Yes, what all Brian82 said. There is no fix for "The 1011 Brick". Sure, you can get out of the bootloader mode, and sure, there's a method for supposedly flashing the baseband, but it always gives you an error such as the "bootloader too old" error. I thoroughly read and tried everything pertinent here on the forums.

I never had a problem with charging but I had everything else wrong. And it was really sluggish. Like it would take a minute or more to return to the springboard after I hit the home button, with just a black screen in the meantime. Also, after enough jacking around it got to a point where my computer wouldn't recognize it when I plugged it into a USB port.
