Fresh out-of-box US 1.1.1 - want 1.1.2 for German letters. Howto?
Hey,
I've got a fresh 1.1.1 from the US at home in Germany. Since 1.1.2 helps with typing because it has a German keyboard and German specialty letters ö ä ü, I'd very much like to upgrade to 1.1.2.
Now I'm in a dilemma: Use 1.1.1. with US keyboard, jailbreak it with jailbreakme.com and unlock it with anysim OR do I simply upgrade it to 1.1.2 and do the whole downgrading shenaniganz (which I also would love to ditch) to use it under 1.1.2?
Does anyone have a better suggestion?

1.1.1 also has german keyboard and umlaute. just keep your finger on the A letter for example a little popup with the umlaute will appear

Yes, use 1.1.1 with iDeutsch. Works very well on my iPhone. :-)

you can alternativly get ASgerman from sendowski.de and load it with the installer. you will find instructions on his site.
i just found that some translations are a bit more logic or convenient compared to iDeutsch. but both are worth a try.

Hey.
I'm from Germany as well.
If I was you I'd just wait a few more days until 1.1.2 has been unlocked.
This will offer native support for German.

The best solution is iDeutsch 3.2.2 right now. Also available through the Installer.app if you add the iDeutsch repo to Sources (use the SEARCH function for details). Easy as can be! Trust me, iDeutsch is the BEST, I have it on two iPhones and I love it.
