Default Forgotten iPhone password (not the root pass)

    Hi,

I recently put a password on my iPhone, but then forgot what it was and found that, after every 5 tries, the phone gets locked for incrementally longer periods of time

I have restored the phone, but it still asks for my password. Please tell me there is a way of solving this issue? Many thanks,

    jms

The big problem I have is that I accidentally let it sync AFTER the passcode. So now, when I restore, it puts it back to the passworded version.

The only other option is completely starting from scratch, but I'm wondering, are my contacts stored somewhere on my PC because I've added loads SINCE the iPhone so there are lots missing from Outlook

    Thanks

Dont worry ill help you out. Is your iphone Jailbroken? what fimware vs are you on ?
If you know how then rename var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard and if that doesnt work then var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preferences
If you dont know how post back

Thank you for helping! No, unfortunately I don't know how. I mean, I don't know where var comes from, is it the apple folder? Many thanks again!
