    Hi,

I have downloaded ipsw file for 1.0.2 Firmware. How can i restore iphone in Itunes by using that ipsw files in windows? I know someone posted that we could do that by

Pressing shift + click Restore and choose from the Firmware file(s).

But what file should i choose? There are many files in the folder once you unzip the ipsw. Someone Please clarify this. Or can i restore or update iphone without itunes? Thank you so much.

I just have one thing to Point out. In November 2006, a law was passed in the US stating it IS COMPLETLY LEGAL to unlock ANY phone once the customer has paid for it.

If that is the case then surly all of APPLES T&C's dont anctually mean fuc all. Them, just like their statment last week is all scare tactics!!!

Sure, it's completly legal to unlock it AND it's completly legal of Apple to not support the unlocked phones (cuz of breaking EULA and stuff), isn't it?

    Sad but true....

Default Restore with specific restore code

Please verify that this is the complete, correct process of restoring with a specific rev of code.

    1) Put "iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw" in a known directory on PC
    2) Plug iPhone into PC (fully charged, preferably)
    3) Run iTunes
    4) Select iPhone in iTunes and remain on Summary tab
    5) Hold the "SHIFT" key while pressing "Restore" button in iTunes
    6) Find and select "iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw" file
    7) Follow normal Apple restore process

I got confused by whether the iPhone needs to put into the "yellow triangle" mode before using iTunes to Shift-Restore. Is this an additional step "4b"?

...AND will the result be an "unJailbroken" iPhone restored basically to factory settings?

This is totally bs. Anyone who says that apple isn't purposely bricking phones is in denial. I never even had my phone unlocked because anysim failed, but my phone is still bricked now. The F'ed up part is where I go to manually revert back to 1.0.2 by hitting shift and restore in iTunes. It comes back with "unknown error 1" and doesn't let you revert back to the old firmware. Unknown my ass. Apple's attempt to punish people. I had to give up my business discount just to make this phone work with my AT&T account and now apple pulls this.

When you ran anysim, it modifies the baseband fireware. Even if it failed to unlock your phone, it still modified the fireware. As a result, the phone becomes bricked when you updated. So don't update to 1.1.1 if you ran any unlock program on your iphone even if the unlock failed. I HOPE PEOPLE REALIZE THIS.
