so you can use this (downloading now) to upgrade from a 2G iphone with 1.1.4 (ziphoned) to 2.0? I assume you are using itunes 7.7 correct?

Well, same here in Germany. Itunes offered the update. People should now be vary cautious, since this will mean that if you f**k up your machine and simply restore without choosing which file to restore with, are going to end up with a fresh and new 2.0 iPhone.

I personally am expecting more threads to follow with people wanting help since they 'accidentally' upgraded to 1.2.

Yea. Unless you are with an official carrier then DO NOT UPGRADE!

Are you using safari? If you are, download camino for your mac and then redownload it, you should then be fine.

You remove .zip from the end of the file name so that it's just iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw
