What method did you use to unlock the phone originally? anysim or the more manual method?

No, that would be the dumbest move ever. Apple isn't going to waste developement money trying to break people's phones. No one would be happy with that.

What is the correct key to press on a Mac and on a Windows system?
It's the Option (aka "alt") key on a Mac, confirmed. And I guess it's the Shift key on a PC.

i'm not really interested in jumping into the fire BUT, the supersim unlock which i still use basically fools itunes into thinking it's an at&t sim. i would imagine that at least (if someone other than me) wanted to try that...i would think it would take the upgrade. as long as you don't brick the phone using 3rd party apps that might conflict. what do you think?

What I am asking is this. If I unlocked my phone, that I had activated on ATT with a valid ATT SIM, and I apply this update, am I going to get the Invalid SIM error? I ask because whenever a baseband relock was attempted I would get this invalid SIM error. I don't think this is an asinine question. I wonder if I am the only ATT customer who unlocked their phone for when they travel abroad.

Apple planted a deadly virus in your phone in the form of an electronic plant. It survives on battery charges, like watering a plant. Ok i'm sorry. I was just kidding. I don't think apple will plant a virus on its own iphone. Also, if a virus is planted, I dont suppose delaying the time it actually executes helps anything at all. If a virus was planted, apple have nothing to lose to just execute it right away, and send out a clear message that hacking their firmware will not be taken lightly. Just my thought. Of course, your questions is kinda interesting, a possiblity, but common sense says otherwise.
