Here is my (scared) thoughts....

I am buying a new Iphone in USA and it's going to be delivered to me to Italy in about 10 days....

I have read that new firmware 1.1.1 is almost to come out and "probably" the unlock process will not be......possible any more with the new firmware (except Dev Team unlocks that....too )

That's why I am trying to save on my pc all files which will serve to me to activate and unlock my future new iphone.

probably the iphone will have 1.0.1 firmware on it, so i will need to update to 1.0.2 before ulocking.....right?

What if by that day on Itunes it will only be possible to update to the new (1.1.1) fimware and no more to the 1.0.2 firmware?

Is there a place where I can download the 1.0.2 firmware and a way to install it on the iphone without using Itunes?

i surfed the forum and the net but i couldn't find anything....

I'm worried about the exact same thing here :-( Are new phones sold with 1.0.2 pre-installed? Is there any way to upgrade the iPhone to 1.0.2 without iTunes? Or is it possible to download the firmware and install it manually so that iTunes will use it for a restore?

I guess this is a problem a whole lot of people will be having - anyone have a clue if there's a solution to it?

"To restore from a file using a Mac or Pc:
Mac: Hold Option and then click on "Restore", the file dialog opens
Pc: Hold Shift and then click on "Restore", the file dialog opens..."
