right you sure you have changed the serial in minicom to /dev/tty.baseband and SAVED it as dfl after exiting?

You need to put termcap file in /etc folder and create the folder /usr/local/etc as it's used to save pref. Then type minicom -s and change /dev/modem by /dev/tty.baseband in settings. Save as dfl and exit.

    mikey,

very nice job there mate. i'm from up north in sunny lancashire and about to either use the pin method or try scrape and solder....

i dont have any needles only sewing neddles not sure if they will do... have a bit of trouble getting the back cover off but i got there in the end... removed to tiny silver cover off the chips and i was a bit suprised on how small the tracks are...

now i have stopped for a moment and thought should i continue now or stop... this is the time that if i was to brick it will be now...

dilema.... not sure what to do. think i will go and make a coffee and think about it. once coffee is made back on the forums for a bit more reading to see if theres anything on here to help...

    back soon

termcap should be in /etc. Folder /usr/local/etc is used to saved minicom settings.

    Hi Mikey,

    Thanks for the reply...

in the end i solder to the point, done thousand of ps2's in my time so it was very easy, and without magnification....

the problem i have is that when i come to use the software side of the unlock. basically i didn't have a local folder on the iphone so i had to create one and then create the etc folder inside the local folder.

then i put the termcal file inside the etc folder and made sure its set to (0755) for permissions.

moved the commcenter.plist to a safe place on my desktop for later.

copied the bbupdater to the bin folder

    i did this using WINSCP

i then went to use putty. connected ok using the root and dottie.

    i then typed reboot

got a command error - command not found

dont know why its doing that, i have tried typing minicon-s

and get an error message from that as well....

i used ibrikr to unlock it and load ssh and binkit onto it, dont know how to check they are working correctly, but when i go into the ibrickr program they are listed there as applications that are installed....

if you can help me resolve any of this i would be very grateful

    thanks alot
    Z
