exchange new 3g for 3gs in store?
Guys,
I get my service and phone paid for by my company, I recently switched from a blackberry to an iphone (last week, so would be considered new customer since I was on Sprint). I am still waiting for all the paperwork and the device to come through which I hope is this week sometime.
Want I am hoping to get answered is this question. I really wanted a 3gs, however my Company's policy is only 3g are acceptable to be purchased by them (cost reason). I had offered to send them a check for the difference of the 3gs, but they squawked at that.
So my question is, how do I go about getting a 3gs? Can I exchange the unopened 3g (with no receipt because my Company paid for it) for a 3gs at a store like AT&T, Walmart Apple Store as long as I pay the difference in price to get a 3gs and as long as I have valid account with AT&T? Any suggestions would be great. I am not looking to spend the pricey 500-700 I have seen online for a 3gs separate if I can find a way to exchange the 3g. Thanks in advance.

Calm down, and give it some time. People use the search feature and just stumble around the forums like me to absorb knowledge. Patience is key here, agreed? There are alot of people asking for help on these forums, and not of us giving it. So give us times to make our rounds in the forums and you'll get helped. We give as much as we can with what we know around here. Okay, now to your problem. NO, they will not do an upgrade if you are not the account hold or on the account list as a primary. HOWEVER, if the iPhone is still New and in good condition, check out Craig's List for someone selling a 3GS or trading, and offer them your plus $100 USD in cash or so and you will have yourself a pretty sweet deal. Even better, if your company has AT&T you don't have to worry about firmware or unlocking. Hope this helped.
Much Luck,
C. Negatory
