Default [Exchange] MS Direct Push ?

    Hi there,

im actually using a Windows-Mobile Smartphone and I'm using MS-push with my companies exchange.

I think the iPhone is a great device for web-surfing and mailing (much much better the WM) and I really would like to buy it.
But I ask myself, if Steve Jobs uses this phone himself? There are so many important missing things, that are just not implemented. (copy-paste, word-reader, pdf-reader AND EXCHANGE).
Exchange is nearly in every company the main office-server and if you are one time accustomed to it, you never want to miss it again!

So my question is, if it is planed to add MS-push to iPhone by apple (maybe someone has some insider information) in near future?
On the other hand, is there any third-party app. that allow ms-push?
Mailing would be the most important part for me! (IMAP is NO solution: not supported by my company, no sync!)
To request every few minutes for new mails is also no solution for me, because how long will the battery life in this case??

And if there is no push-solution at the moment, is there any way to snych it manually over EDGE? (I have tried to sync my girlfriends iPhone with an exchange-account via outlook - NOT WORKING, just local-accounts).

I doubt we will see real Exchange support for iPhone. Exchange isn't exactly very open to other than Microsoft...

@GeeZuZz I hope you are wrong!
But "RVN84" is right. There are many "windows-less" devices that support MS-Push, and I think I'm not the only one how would buy an iPhone when it will support push. I know many other people that don't wanna miss ms-push and they will all keep their windows-mobile phone as long as the iPhone doesn't support it.

The iPhone supports Exchange in IMAP mode. Ask your admin if imap is enabled on the exchange server.

Well, my e-mail server is enabled for exchange and IMAP. With Iphone it does not support direct push: you have to manually check mails, or set a time for the e-mails to b checked automatically. Its a bit annoying.

That's how I have done it. I set it to 15 mins. It works for me, but I admit, true push would be great. But hey, at least it is useable now.
