I've been trying to restore my iPhone for DAYS now, everytime it runs it gets about 25% through and then fails, I get: 'an unknown error occured - error (6). does ANYONE know what this might mean, or know of a way to fix it? I're read that it might be a USB problem, but I've tried in in 4 different computers with no change. also tried the restore in Windows with the same result.

judt FYI: It was a 1.0.2 phone unlocked with iUnlock, accidentally upgraded to 1.1.1, restored to 1.0.2, had to restore 1.0.2 again because of software problems, now stuck on yellow triangle - will not boot, will not restore. brickified!

It sometimes happenes because u are stuck in triangle. Or is DAMAGED.
Try:

Sleep + Home button until apple logo appears
It should go to the activation screen.

Restore from there.

tried this. I think the iphone is damaged. I'm stuck with a pretty brick

try virinizing the phone - you should be able to start fresh after doing so.

try using another iphone cable, maybe it is usb issue, or wait till iphone drains battery and recharge
