Lightbulb Error (6) The END! ($150 for a solution)

    hi guys,

*we are offering a $50 (zxspectrum) + $100 (ashganatra) reward via Paypal to the person who will successfully resurrect my iPhone from Error (6).

after using a cocktail of iFuntastic 2x/Apptapp with itunes 7.4 my iPhone went into permanent recovery mode (yellow triangle).

the good news are that iTunes is recognizing the iPhone. nevertheless, it cannot be restored. towards the very end of the restoration process, when itunes is 'verifying iPhone software', the restore is failing and the following message is displayed:

'The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (6)'

    Things I’ve tried

    1. trashed all iPhone related files.
    2. reinstalled iTunes.
    3. downgraded to iTunes 7.3.2
    4. reverted to the old MobileDevice.framework file.
    5. endless reboot fix.
    6. different computers and USB plugs.

    thanks in advance.

ive had issues with restoring iphones and i had to use my desktop and laptop.

first of all... i learned never to downgrade itunes versions, cause once you have a newer version and it has recognized and created music libraries, the older itunes will NOT open due to it not being able to recognize the libraries.

and... since all you probably need itunes for is to restore, its best to use the latest one... as long as the FW isnt past 1.0.2 (its not gonna be like this forever though, a FW update is due anytime now)

just see if you can restore your phone on a friend's computer. put it through recovery mode again and hope that itunes will recognize it. ive gotten past this by persistence. hope that helps.
