Error 1014? Trying to force UpdateBaseBand, info needed
I did the hardwareunlock. Everything went well, till the very last step: minicom "hung" and had the wrong dir in it /dev/modem/ instead of /dev/tty.baseband. I then changed the setting in minicom, but the phone wouldnt accepte the AT command. I then rebooted. Now its stuck in recovery mode. A restore with iTunes gives me an unknown error 1014.
I can connect with iPhuc, but force UpdateBaseBand gives an error:
i'm doing the following:
1. have the 1.0 firmware on my harddrive in a folder called phonedmg
2. start up iphuc, run: grestore phonedmg
3. exit iphuc, reconnect, to get to restore mode
4. force UpdateBaseBand
It goes on to say the same thing as you get: but my message says: will update with usr/local/standalone/ICE03.12.06_G.fls and usr/local/standalone/ICE03.12.06_G.eep
Preparing to flash using /dev/tty.baseband
So it uses the ICE-files from the "old" firmware. After that it reboots a few times, but then goes on to do the update, or so it seems:
it gives 100 messages: ProgressUpdate runs... showing lines from 01 til 100
but then ends with:
ProcessDetailUpdate: Sending end-pack
ProcessOutlineUpdated: Process time was 2 min 3 sec.
Error: Failed to download .FLS: Could not evrify downloaded image.
Done
done
I had a v1.02 iPhone before I started the update, so I can imagine it cant verify the image? I'd expect the thing to use the 03.14.08_G update file, instead of the old 03.12.06 one?
Any idea how to get this to work?

use 1.0.2 instead of 1.0 firmware, need to flash with ICE03.14.08_G.fls

Yeah, I figured that, but how do you "load" the 1.02 firmware with Iphuc?
edit, ah, got it: renamed the 1.02 firmware files to the .dmg names of the 1.00 ones. If I do a force UpdateBaseBand now it goes and tries to update... Probably new errors, but we'll see
Any other commands that I could try, instead of the baseband update?

Matt,
have you had any joy with this? Do you know if there is any way of emulating this in Windows?

Just install the terminal app, theres a link somewhere in the board, about rescuewifi
If you have that installed you can issue the commands through terminal on your iPhone... I tried restoring, but nothing worked (commands went OK, but didnt help)...
