Angry Engadget sencours critcs on iPhone unlock

Engadget delete my blogposting as offencive to their chief editor.

    Read below:

What is your stands on freedom of speach?

I havent called your editor a liar, but an easy-fooled guy.
Its perfectly easy to create an app that simulate an unlcok on an already hardware hacked phone.
Your video proves nothing, and the fact that you edit away comments from your blog posts is not underminding any scepcism.

If you dont allow people to comment your posts with reasonable comments you do not have much to do as a press publication.

I would never think you guys would edit a reader post with perfectly leagal scepcism and comments.

    Regards, M**** *****

Of course the unlock via software is real, calling our Editor in Chief
a liar is low and sad business. We stand by what Ryan said, he
absolutely was not tricked or fooled.

I think it's about time Engadget rethink who they let write their
articles. Releasing phony information that most indicies tell is not
true on the iPhone unlock is really damaging peoples impression of
Engadget. Ryan Block is on deep water trying to explain that what he
was tricked to belive was a software unlock, after all was not true
    (as most people knew).

Two crews claim to have unlocked the iPhone, then they disapear. Get
scared of AT&T lawyers. Removing the unlock is not illegal in most
countries so there should not be any issue for lawyers. The iPhone
unlock is not different from any other phone unlock in legal terms.

Reccomending Engadget to confirm and reconfirm their sources before
    posting phony information.

So what? You went the personal-attack route, and lost. Besides, their decision to choose not to post your painfully butchered comments has nothing to do with free speech.

I would say Engadget fails to pick up on reasonable critisism, which they would easily have responded to in an open manner. This kind of editing is more Italian media style.

WTF is up with you losers. Got no gf or wife so you have to lighten your sad life up with some technocrap? Honestly, shut up and go wherever the trolls are.

Why the fux is it that you are that upset over some story on the net? Did million of people die? Will the Earth crush into the Sun? NOOO for gods sake, its a friggin cell phone, and honestly, you all do not know anything about that softwarehack, noone here knows if its true or not, so why even bother talking about? The whole forum is filled with oneshot morons posting the same shite over and over again....

You could have went about it in a better way. Rather than personally attack them, you could have brought up points and developed arguements proving that it was a fake and thus put the credibility of the site in question.

Both Gizmodo and Engadget regularly censor negative or critical comments.

They both do so with some license, as these types of comments can very easily be argued as off-topic. Comments which are openly hostile, filled with rage (a.k.a flames) can also be removed for just spoiling the vibe. Arguably.

Yet I have had a few critical but nicely worded comments removed from both - probably because I raised questions they didn't want to answer or because I pointed out a mistake they made, or I disagreed with them.

I think it is in the long term damaging to their credibility. They both bag on companies all the time for being closed or trying to control their image by stifling negative feedback from users. And they both try to cultivate this an image of being consumer minded, consumer advocates.

But I guess it speaks for itself, how they treat their own consumers when they think no one is looking.

who cares if it is a fake? I mean, honestly, who the fux in this world cares? Someday it will be unlockable by software, and if not, then thats the way its meant to be. But spamming the General Forum day and night with some crap is not the right way. He is whining, nothing more. Obviously you all know a lot more than engadget, because almost everyone here is claiming that its a fraud....please, enlighten us, how the heck do you guys all know this?
Nothing? righ, then just shut up and take it like a man. Stop spamming the forum with useless shite.

Er, Galem's right. I'm not sick of people raising legitimate queries on here about Engadget's independence... even though I disagree, and I think Engadget are entitled to remove stuff from their own site, it's an interesting view.

I'm sick instead of people like you making post after post (you have 2 just on this thread!) telling people to shut up!!

Surely that's worse!? Rather than taking your obviously extremely valuable time commenting on why you think others shouldn't comment... JUST DON'T READ THE POSTS THAT BOTHER YOU!

    Sheesh...

Give me an ignore option for crap like this and I will be glad to do so. Until then I would prefer information posted on a forum to be valuable. At the moment every half-ass with an iphone dummy in his pocket is registering here to post some crap that is neither interesting nor important. So a post he made got deleted?...whoohoo....now thats really really sad.
Another site claims to release a software unlock?...omg, prove it or we won´t believe a word you say...

You ever thought about it? Those site give a crap about whether you like them, you think its true or you just plain and simple think they are scammers. In the end if they have an unlock, no matter how many times they fooled you, you will gladly pay serious bucks for it. Thats a fact. So just cut it and "report" something that might be interesting instead of commenting on the 50th post.
