    Default Endless Reboot Cycle

I had a Spirit jailbroken iPhone 3GS running OS 3.1.2 with 3.1.2 and 3.1.1 hashes stored on saurik's server.

I wanted to try out iOS4 (thinking I would re-jailbreak when the iOS 4 JB was available). I tried restore and update to iOS4 through iTunes 9.2, but now my phone is stuck in a reboot cycle, never getting past the white Apple logo.

Reading another thread on here, I tried to use the iRecovery problem and although I have gone through the process several times, I am still stuck in endless root.

    Is there any hope?

Yes, I did see that thread. I am not sure it's the same situation exactly, as I have not used Spirit with iTunes 9.2 - I had jailbroken my phone with Spirit before 9.2 came out. I did upgrade to 9.2 and continued using my 3.1.2 jailbroken phone with it for quite a while before trying to restore to the stock iOS4.

Put the phone in DFU mode. Make sure you are in DFU: the USB device description should NOT contain the word 'Recovery'
Then just use iTunes to download 4.0 and restore to it.
If it fails, POST THE RESTORE LOG!
