Please backup UnknownCarrier.plist just in case it doesn't work on yours
OK the edge setting does stick now after I have followed this (hurray) but now I have been experiencing some other weird edge problem. Suddenly edge will stop working even thougth the APN setting sticks. I will get error messages "could not activate Edge" and this has happened to me twice now. Last night it happened when I was out and then in about an hour, it just started working again without me doing anything on my part (all the while the APN setting was correctly remembered). Just now it has happened again and I have no idea what I have done to trigger this, or how it got fixed like last nite... at first I thought it might be that the network was done but now that it is happening again I am pretty sure thats not the case.

To make it more complicated I have been making other fixes this past two days: getting services.app to correctly "sees" SSH (done, by hacking into services using a Hex Editor), and also getting Installer.app to update correctly to v3.0 (by editing a plist). In fact I just did both of these this morning and now I find that Edge not working... ARGGGGGG!

OK I am officially baffled now. Right after I types out that last post which probably took 5 minutes? I checked my phone and guess what? Edge is working again... just like last night when it started working by itself. What gives?! How do I get to the bottom of this? Anyone experience anything like this? PS all the while the APN setting still sticks.
