I am not following you here? I have an O2 Simplicity card with data bolt on and did not have to enter any details into the iphone, is just worked first time. Is your PAYG card a new one, i.e. does it say 3G on it (even though iphone is not 3G you may need this type of card as all the settings are already on the card which is why it is plug and play without having to input settings). If not, ask O2 to exchange your card - tell them you have a 3G phone which you bought from an O2 store if they are awkward.

    Hi

3G has nothing to do with it, all cards are now supplied with support for 3G

EDGE is not a service that works on o2 pay and go even if the bolt on is enabled.

o2 simplicity is a pay monthly tariff and is NOT the same as pay and go

You need a contract sim to enable EDGE

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

If you got a UK iphone and you are on o2 then the settings are already built into the iphone. The sim does not have the abilty to store network settings

check them out - the simplicity deal

    only 30 day contract

    starting at £15 a month

the one for £25 gets you a good deal because you get a free web bolt on with unlimited data
