I recently moved from Tmobile to ATT using Iphone 2G 2.1 jailbreak/unlocked, and i signed up the iphone data plan with att. I am not able to browse the internet with safari, but email is working (meaning i can receive and send email). Is this because of the unlocking which messed up some of the settings. should i just do a restore to 2.1 and jailbreak without the unlock. thanks for any help.

if you signed up on AT&T legitimately (meaning you have visual voice mail and are able to activate the phone via iTunes) then you will need to do a restore and let iTunes activate the phone, then jailbreak it again but without activating.

also if you were manually editing your edge settings it may not have picked up the AT&T ones, if after doing a restore and restoring the phone from a back up you still cant use edge you will need to either restore the phone or wipe all data and then set it up as a NEW PHONE.

the custom edge settings can reside in the backup and prevent edge from working and i found no other way to over ride this.
