As the title suggests has anyone been able to do this? I have tried Services and Big boss but it just get's switched on again, I think as the phone is already set up for the unlimited data on O2 network it somehow overides services or bigboss.

I have searched the forums a lot and cannot find any help.

Please help as I have already recieved 2 huge phone bills for data used and i Haven't even been using it..

I phoned them up and they turned it off for me.

Try Netservices from copycoders repo at homepage.mac.com/hartsteins/copycoders/copycoders.xml

Its odd as I used to use netservices on my iPhone and it worked then 1.1.4 came out and only BossPrefs worked!

If you unlocked your phone you can also manually turn off EDGE.

1. Put another SIM in the phone (not O2 as the settings are automatic)
2. Go to settings>general>network and you will see the EDGE settings
3. They will be blank however!
4. DO NOT EXIT the EDGE menu BUT remove your other network SIM and put your O2 SIM in the phone.
5. Enter whatever random stuff you want in the spaces!
6. Press the home button! the phone will have saved your made up settings and won't be able to connect to EDGE/GPRS.

If you do a settings reset the original correct settings will come back automatically.

You will NOT be able to enter the EDGE settings again unless you put the other network SIM in the phone, which is why you should not exit it until you have filled in the 3 blank sections first!...

Best would be to set up a custom carrier bundle. Cause you are on one of apples partners contract but not using an iphone contract. the iphone "thinks" you are using an iphone contract and uses the o2 UK carrier bundle, edge on is set there.

The bundle should be named something like my_o2_UK. It's all done in the web-interface. Then you have to copy the bundle to /System/Library/Carrier Bundles. Then delete the existing symlink 23410 that points your simcard to the apple-o2-bundle and create a new one pointing to your custom bundle.

Its all in the readme. Should take you about 2-3 minutes and you are set.
