Hi everyone. I've been searching this for days and I couldn't find it, so I post my question.

I have a 1.1.3 OTB to which I did all the stuff (1.1.4 + iPlus2.0b)
Everything seems to be fine, but I have a weird thing going on with edge.

The first time I tried using Edge was perfect. After a few hours it didn't. Yesterday trying things I made it work again (don't know how). Today I had a meeting so I turned my phone off. When I turned it back on, I had no edge again (the E shows ok but can't log to any web/weather/emails). After trying a few things (yesterday and today) I noticed that I do have edge but what doesn't seem to work is the DNS (??). If I try to go to www.google.com safari says the "wrong answer" but if I put the IP address of google's website, I can get there.

I tried, turning edge on and off with bossprefs, reseting the phone, reseting network setting, but nothing seems to work. I even tried to switch on the phone without the simcard, used wifi, then back off, and back on with the simcard.

I'm geting really crazy about this cause a can't find any solutions out there.

If someone knows what to do, or at least any suggestions I will appreciate it.

By the way, EDGE config is OK (double checked), EDGE works with same simcard on my older phone, so no problems there.

restore your iPhone to 1.1.4 and unlock jailbreak act with ziphone again.... that may fix it give it a try!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I prefer not to use ziphone.

Edge seems to deactivate itself once n a while and Label disabled where wap.voicestream.com. Download BossPrefs, and then reinstall the 5.99 t-zones package. After this, go on Bossprefs, disable and enable the edge. See if this works, trial and error.

Or reset the network settings from settings>general>reset, and see if this works. Yea, it just sais DISABLED once in a while i have no idea why lol Hope this helps!

Edit: Im on 1.1.4 right now, and haven't encountered the problem yet, and ive been on it for about 3 weeks now. If you dont like Ziphone, you should really consider using iPlus 1.2b w. international payload. Works great!

Thanks for your answer. Sorry I didn't came back soon.

I tried your suggestion but didn't work. It's probably something stupid, but I don't figure it out. The thing is that the phone without EDGE is a bit stupid. I can use everything else, but I really bought it to have emails and everything on the go.

If somebody else has an idea I will really appreciate it.

The Symptoms (check by order)
1. When no Wi-Fi around or disabled and trying to open a webpage in Safari you get something like "Safari could not find the Server". Other internet services not working aswell.
2. Check then in Boss Prefs: "Edge" should have an IP-Number assigned.
3. Open Mobile safari again and type http://64.233.167.99/. If Googles webpage pops up, this solution is for you
