Default [EDGE] Disable it on 1.1.4

Hey guys, I just upgraded my phone to 1.1.4 and I tried to disable it using NetService and Boss Prefs. None of them seemed to work though. EDGE icon is still in the left top corner.
I need EDGE completely disabled coz frickin' AT&T charges me every month for data when I hit Safari icon by mistake and it transfers a few KB. This is annoying the hell outta me.
    Any ideas?

Are you sure your edge is still ON?
On my phone Edge icon is displayed whenever I'm not within the Wi-Fi range but I know it's OFF (never set edge prefs).
Try again turning it off with Boss Prefs (make sure you're out of Wi-Fi range) and then try to load a website (or Maps, or whatever that connects to the internet) to see if it works.

The EDGE logo stays there at all times.

Turn it off using Boss tools (for some reason netservices won't work for me!) and then try loading the stocks or weather - if it says update failed or doesn't load then you know its off. Easy.

are you unlocked? If you are there is a trick you can do to disable your EDGE by entering the wrong settings.

Swap out your AT&T SIM (or official SIM wherever you are) and stick in another non-official SIM then head to network settings and EDGE settings which appear when a non official SIM is in the phone.

    STAY IN THAT MENU

Swap the SIMs over - DO NOT EXIT the EDGE menu.

When you have your official SIM back in then just type anything into all 3 sections so that the phone does not fill it in with the default EDGE settings and then exit the menu.

Now if you try to go back to EDGE settings the menu will have vanished but as you filled in the "fake" settings it won't be able to connect via EDGE unless you do a full settings reset.

Sorted! and if your on an non-official SIM then you can just change the EDGE settings using the menu anyway.

I suppose if your not unlocked you could always unlock JUST to get access to that menu!

No matter if I'm within Wi-Fi range, it's always shown in the corner. I don't think this makes any difference.

Where is your plist file? Can you please post the link to it?

I don't have another SIM to be able to pull out EDGE settings. I'll see if I can find one and change the settings. Thanks for the suggestion.
