This is my 1st msg. 1st I would like to thank all the developer here.

I bought a new iPhone two days back from the gray market since we don't recieve it leagaly here in Saudi Arabia, it's unlocked now but with the old version (1.0.2), I head that the new version will add more good functions to it, so i decided to upgrade it my self to version 1.1.1.

I have Macbook Pro laptop & also a PC station, I would like to know which OS is easer to use to unlock the iPhone.

I am more expert in Mac than Win, is it easer to do it in Mac?

Would any one help me on that, also I appreciates if you could post me the step by step for how to do it.

it's easier in a mac. but if you unlocked your phone using the old anysim and then did th upgrade you wil hav to virgnize it.

What I am trying to do is to upgrade the iphone system to version 1.1.1, & I am sure after upgrading it will lock again so that is why I want to finde step by step way to unlock it after the upgrade.

ok.. but i'll assume you know some stuff..
what you need:
-iPhone virgin 1.0.2 or 1.1.1
-iNdependence 1.2.4 or 1.2.5
-AnySim 1.1

1.MAKE SURE YOUR IPHONE IS VIRGIN (never unlocked before)
2.If it is 1.1.1 you'll have to downgrade to 1.0.2 using the DFU MODE from independence (alt-click on restore button from itunes)
3.close itunes, launch independence, activate, jailbreak, install ssh, and in the last tab, select PRE 1.1.1 UPDATE. (password: dottie)
3.close iNdependence and open iTunes, update your phone to 1.1.1
4. in iNdependence activate, (automatic jailbreak), instal SSH and upload AnySim 1.1. (password: alpine)
5.Put your Sim on, Setting/General/Autolock/never on iphone, then unlock.

That's it

UPDATE: iTunes_helper must be killed from Activity monitor. sorry, missed this part and sorry about my english

It's unlocked now, but the systemverion is 1.0.2, that is why i want to upgrade it to version 1.1.1.
