earpiece sound a bit muffled and cracking and ...
Hello all.
I did a search but did not find muh.
ok all of a sudden the earpiece is not functioning the way it was yesterday ???
not dropped the phone or anything.
the sound is muffled and not very clear...it was very clear and loud before...also the voice goes away at times and but will work fine on the speaker side.
I already tried the headset trick...any idea's or any one have any path of something that can fix this...is there a way i can reload the earpiece file via ssh or something like that... thanks all

Did you take a shower and put it in your ear right after? Sounds like water damage or you are too far away from your phone (if it is a bluetooth earpiece you are talking about).

have you tried another earpiece? My stock headsets went to shit a few weeks ago. I just went to the apple store and exchanged them for a new pair. Theyre covered under your warrantie (unless you added ringtones or something, in which case your warranty is void
j/k) if they are the stock ones just go get a new pair.

guys i am not talking about the headset but the earpiece which is built into the phone.
so i cant use it like a normal phone anymore
i have to use it with the handsfree/bluetooth or the speaker phone.
now the sound has gone completly and even after inserting the headset jack a few times its not coming from there.
any idea..any patch and way to solve this

If you are good at taking things apart, the camera flex cable (i think) contains the speaker for the earpiece.

From what I have seen of the inside of my iPhone this seems to be the speaker too, can anyone confirm?
