[Dropped in Water] iphone dead ?
well, worst thing happened this christmas, iphone got dropped into water... i turned it off and left it and hoping it would dry off...
then i did a restore to 1.1.2 which is what i was on, but i got an error and iphone was showing the restore mode screen when it wasnt in restore mode yet the slide for emergency part was there.
after playing rnd abit trying to figure out if it was a gonner, i did a restore to 1.1.1 and did the jailbreak etc and it all went fine..
everything on the iphone is working fine except for the no service i am getting from the phone so i cannot make calls or receive.
I am thinking i have done something silly when i tried to restore it and messed it up or water is causing there to be no service in the iphone...
so i am basically asking for any ideas before i declare it dunzo... anything i can do to see if it is the iphone signal or is it bricked or something from the restore...
my iphone is unlocked on 1.1.1 at the moment.
sim card works fine in another phone so its not that!
any help appreciated. i have just left it off for the time being hoping to let any water dry off more if there is any parts still wet and praying service will come back, but its unlikely.

1.1.1 you say? If you were on 1.1.2 the modem firmware is still 4_02 etc, that might explain the no service, oktoprep, upgrade to 1.1.2 again and unlock in airplanemode. It might fix it

did what you said... when i try and run windows.bat it boots one time and then starts back up and then nothing else happens it just stays on waiting to boot after its booted once.
the iphone comes on and shows the restore mode picture even though its not in that mode and slide to emergency under it...
i have tried to install appsnapp but when i click install it just stops on a blank page and nothing else happens.
its not looking good :-( any ideas?

downgrade to 1.0.2 and restore the baseband to 3.14 and unlock it again using anysim 1.02. it'll work fine.

how do i restore the baseband? will it be done auto when i downgrade to 1.0.2 via a restore?
-
no, it will not be auto, u have to do it you self, restore the baseband,

hey, i have restored to 1.0.2 and it has started to work again... i have service although i havent yet restored the baseband??
what should I do? leave it now its working or restore baseband?
-
hey,
as you can see from my post above I have now version 1.0.2 running but my baseband is still at 1.1.2
I was wondering if possible what would be the best way for me to upgrade back to version 1.1.2?
I am running an unlocked iphone. Do i need to restore my baseband or virginize?
thanks, any help appreciated.

No, just just need to install oktoprep from AppTapp then click the UPDATE button in iTUnes...Then use the 1.1.2 jailbreak/activation app from conceited software...

Hi biddy, the following procedure shows how to Downgrade your Baseband
1.- Downgrade to version 1.0.2
2.- Use package Downgrade_1.1.2_complete (http://www.4$hared.com/file/29599306/4db767ff/Downgrade_112_Complete.html)
3.- Activate/Jailbreak iPhone in version 1.0.2
4.- Install SSH
5.- Copy "Baseband" folder to /usr/bin in iPhone
6.- Connect via ssh to iPhone
7.- Run the following commands
launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
cd /usr/bin
chmod +x ieraser
chmod +x bbupdater
ieraser
bbupdater -v
bbupdater -f *.fls -e *.eep
(After a 2-3 minute wait it should be done. Now type
bbupdater -v
Now, You should have your phone jailbroken and activated in 1.0.2, if you wish you can upgrade it or jus use AnySIM and unlocked it in 1.0.2 ver
Best regards,
