    Secpack is required.

Well put. Suffice it to say that one way of explaining what the Secpack (or security pac) is that it's a token or key that is different in each version of the firmware and required each time that a BB flash is required. The secpack safeguards against bricking the phone.

I once accidentally scratched off both the inside trace and the trace next to it; I jumped both and the old iUnlocker gave me a weird message like, "Are you sure you erased the xxx?" Once I got that message, even a proper connection with only the inside trace would generate this message. The only remedy was to run ieraser again. Could this have anything to do with our downgrade problem (solving it or otherwise)?
