Exclamation Dont Make the Same Mistake!

    Hey Guys!

Well, I was driving in my dads car, and he had one of these iPod FM transmitters plugged in.

    Specifically the (Belkin F8Z049-BLK).

I wanted to see if it worked with my iPhone, and of course it didnt. When I plugged my iphone into the ipod fm adapter thing, my phone went crazy.

Here are some of the side effects that happened.
-When plugged into AC power or into Computer the phone completely lost service.
-Wi-Fi didn't work. (Plugged in or not).
-Psychadelic lines and fast moving colors went all across the screen after a while.
-After that, the phone just wouldn't turn on, or would turn on, do the pyschadelic things, and show a backwards apple logo.
-After that, if I plugged into computer and tried to restore, it would fail....(Errors-6,9,1603,1604, and 2005)
(Couldn't find any info on the 2005 one.)
-Now the phone doesnt turn on at all. I really think something went wrong like with the battery or something, maybe like the circuits were different or something. But now, It wont respond to anything......It's sad.

So please guys, don't make the silly mistake.

    Thanks guys!

    P.S.
I don't want to seem like a spammer or anything, but if anyone is interested in buying the phone, just PM me, Because I seriously don't know what to do with it. Probably good for parts or something.

Sorry to hear about this. I've tried warning people from attaching anything to the iphone - SPEAKER DOCK SYSTEM/CAR AUDIO/CAR CHARGER/CLOCK RADIO.

Here are other threads where it has happened. Basically the problem is that the voltage for the phone is lower than that of the ipod and as a result - it screws up the phone.

People if you are going to add the iPhone to your JBL/Bose/Logitech/Belkin etc etc
dock, then please ensure it says it supports the IPHONE (100%) - the fact that the adapter fits is NOT a valid reason. Yes Apple are partially to blame because of the similar adapters, but please do not connect your iPhone to anything without that company saying so. At least that way if your phone gets messed up, you can claim a new one from the speaker/dock people.

You click YES to the dialog asking if you want to put the phone in AIRPLANE MODE, which turns off all services that emits radio signal.
Just say NO and you will be all set.

Hmm that's weird one person said they plugged there iPhone into a Alpine head unit and it fried there phone. I plug my iPhone into my Apline deck almost everyday and nothing has gone wrong. Alpine was advertizing that there decks were compatible with the iPhone earlier this year and now they have taken it off there item descriptions. If you go threw there FAQs on there site it does say how to connect the iPhone but it doesn't say anywhere that there decks are compatible. hhhmmmmmmmmm seems skecty maybe I should stop....
