It does not wake up from sleep mode!
It happens that sometimes the Iphone does not wake up from sleep mode! It's like turned off and neither Wake up nor Home button perform the wake up!
The only way to recover it is making a call and answering it or removing the Sim card!
The problem is with both the firmware 1.0.2 and 1.1.1
Does anyone have this problme? Any workaround?
Thanks

when it is in sleep mode, try to ssh in it and use the "top" command to list the processes.
Can you paste them here ?

Crash report
Well it's not exactly the problem they have on that thread.
The phone receives the call BUT does not recover from sleep mode with any button!! The only way to recover is answering a call and turning it off!! I've seen that I have a crash report last time it happened. Hope somone could suggest something. I thank you in advance ;-)

Do you have installed any 3rd party apps before the issue happens ? (e.g summerboard, customize, dock, stacks)
-
i experienced this with 1.1.2 recently.
it has only happened to me once, and i got it out of sleep the same way posted in the OP.
i will try to ssh into the phone next time this happens.

Yes I have summerboard installed. Current version is 3.0b1-1.
I will try to SSH if it happens again. When I had the 1.0.2 it happened more frequently, even if I'm starting to think it's third party apps related..
It's quite a problem beacause when it happens there is no way to use the phone again until somone calls you!
Thanks for you feedbacks!

I had the same thing today. The phone was in my pocket. I picked it and saw that home button was not responding. I tried sleep/wake, did not work. I pressed and hod sleep/wake as if turning it on, but still no response. I was scared to shit that I have a hardware failure. Then I plugged in the USB cable and voila, the screen turned on as if nothing happened!!!
I didn't try ringing myself from another phone but plugging in USB worked for me.
the strange thing was there was no soft reset or any error messages when I plugged in the USB. Just the screen came up.
I hope it is not something related with hardware.

Hi there,
I've got exactly the same issue with mine - it just won't wake up. I posted the other day to try and get some thoughts on this (I was wondering if it was due to my battery running dry) as I couldn't find any other people with this problem.
it happened to me on 1.0.2 and I couldn't wake it up. I have since virginized and upgraded to 1.1.1 and had the same issue, then Oktoprep'd and went to 1.1.2 and had the same issue and then came back down to 1.1.1 and still have the same issue. I've since done about four full restores but had no luck of clearing out whatever has confused it.
I wasn't sure if it was software or hardware related (I think it is software related) but would very much appreciate any thoughts on this please.
Many thanks,
Migs

Sorry, I forgot to mention that if I ring the phone when it is in its deepest slumber that for me it doesn't wake it up - it goes through to voicemail.
And that my camera application has totally fritzed - if I open it the phone resets itself - most bizarre.
Again, if anyone has any thoughts on this I would be very very grateful as I think it might be the case of getting a new phone unfortunately but I am hoping that there is a software solution!
Many thanks,
Migs
