Does iTunes 8 accept custom firmwares?
Sorry if this is obvious, but I haven't found a conclusive answer.
I've been updating and updating since 2.0 (I have a 1st generation iPhone), and so there's bits of problems arising. Now when I hit "update" I get Error 1403 -- so I need to restore...
I heard that iTunes 8 blocks custom firmwares so it won't work. I want to restore to 2.2 (when Pwnage Tool comes out).
So, when I build a custom firmware with Pwnage Tool, will iTunes 8 accept it?
Thanks.

As far as I remember, it does. It's been a while since I restored my custom 2.1, but I think iTunes 8 was already around. However, a new version of iTunes just came out today (8.02) and obviously only the Dev Team members are in a position to test the new Pwnage Tool with iTunes 8.02. I actually posted a comment on their blog today, asking them to specify whether the new iTunes works with the new Pwnage, when it gets released
