These are two commands you'd have to give in a Terminal window (e.g. using PuTTY) so the files in that place have the right owner, group and permissions. Alternatively you can right-click the files in WinSCP and at "Properties" set the owner to root and the group to wheel and check all the boxes with an X next to them (to get the 'octal permissions' to 0755).
It can also be done one file at the time using iFile on the phone.

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

88888888 this file is cracked and is no legal, use it under ur own risk 88888888
This file is not for 3.0, neither 2.2.1. If anyone knows the exact firmware I can probably look at the patch (diff the files) and try to refit the patch to 3.0.

UPDATE #1: I've been examining the iapd program in IDA and I guess I've found a way to patch it. I'm currently testing it and will post the results soon.

UPDATE #2: I've tried 2 patching places in different parts of the program. Both prevented the iPhone from showing the "Device Not Made for Iphone" message and enabled charging. But there is a catch: audio is *not* being diverted. Neither of the audio outputs are working (there are 2 audio outputs, one that is subjected to the iPhone/Ipod volume and another that is at the max volume) and the sound comes out of the iPhone speaker. So this solution is only good for charging.

Those were "simple" patches. I will investigate further in the code. One possibility is to work around the popup to make it behave as if the cancel button (do not enter airplane mode) was pressed. But this is a much more complex patch.

UPDATE #3: Just out of curiosity I've looked into the "small & old" patched iapd file that was place for download in this thread. Not only it's way to old and will certainly cause more trouble to a device running iPhoneOS 3.0, but the patch is a bit before both points that I've tried. Basically what it does is to ignore the Telephony capabilities of the device, and treat as an iTouch. I'm not sure if this will work, but I will give this one a try to. Who knows...

UPDATE #4: I know now. No go. Seems that the "capabilities" are not set unless one click on the cancel button for the "Airplane mode" dialog. Too bad. I will keep looking. 3 patches that have the same effect: works for charging, not good for audio.

UPDATE #5: I was finally able to make a patch that worked, at least partially. The patch I wrote was to ignore the result of the "Airplane mode dialog". Even if you press "Yes" (go in Airplane mode), it will not disable the phone, and better, audio still work. I will now work on the final patch, that will have to patch 3 areas. Let's see.

It's half the size of the 3.0 iapd. It's indeed very old. It works because it's a daemon, a self contained program. The problem is that there were several changes in 3.0 that need that part, specially for new attachments and devices. So it may work and even provide sound. But other stuff may fail.
