I quite respect GeoHot and his skills as a hacker since he did the first 4.6 bootloader unlock by himself.

However, that doesn't mean he can rush people into releasing stuff that isn't thoroughly tested. He should know, Google works as the same basis as Apple does: "Release it when it works" unlike Windblows which releases Vista whether it does or does not work.

Now back to the subject at hand. It is disappointing to see this fighting amongst ourselves when we should have common enemies [like Zibri or that Jody Sanders].

I am with the Dev Team in this one, Geohot should calm down and wait for what is already done to be officially released. It's not like in the first iPhone that we as a group were discovering things as we went. The Dev Teams knows same exploits are still found.

In my opinion, this is nothing but a fight for conflict of interests where the Dev Team wants to release something great without glory/fame and GeoHot who may want the fame he had in the past while trying to release something half baked.

I hope its a joke too. If not it appers to me that people have forgotten the orginal ideals upon which this whole thing was found upon and have become corrupted and misguided by certain outside forces. Those with the orginal ideals still in heart and mind still work togther side by side with the commuinty in mind while others branch off in to thier own faction. I can only hope that this supposed conflict ( if it is that) comes to a end by way of peacful means...

Besides, how could geohot have gotten the new Pwnage? The Dev Team would have said in their blog that they gave it to him. IMO for all anyone knows he could have just found the same exploit as they did in the iBoot on his own. If it is the latter, he has every right to release something he found himself, regardless if someone else found it, its just the question of wheither he should, since it could mess up people's phones like ZiPhone did.

This is a open war. GeoHot seems angry with apple guys bcoz they didn't make a REAL change on iPhone and he see how jailbreak-activate-unlock industry is filled with copycats.

Dev-Team doesnt want to free something bcoz they think also it will be copied.

Well guys... I think we should look the solution, coz no one will help us this time... In few days I will receive a new iPhone3G so im goin to start this, im just tired to hear two both great guy/team complaining

Lets be honest here... All of the devs in discussion have awesome skills and its great what the IDT are doing making a simple end user product.

However, the scene rules are clear as already pointed out - the first release gets the glory and if yiphone is released, the majority will go for as there is such a desperate need to 1.1.4 users to get to 1.2.0

There is so much BS being written on the net where infact, only those in or around the inner sanctum really knows so speculate all you like, we will all find out soon enough

the future will tell ... dont think Geo will release anything that is not fullly tested.
If he would release something then it will probably be with the credits going to the dev team and with a warning that it is not idiot proof ... :p

just like ziphone did....... but that does not mean yiphone is a better tool, ziphone was NOT and was never the better tool
