Default Denied twice from apple store in last 2 days

    Hey guys,

now that apple has been keeping track of credit cards and requiring payment thru credit or debit, how is everyone buying more than 2 iphones?

i could go to the ATT store, but they run a credit check EVERY time you go in there to buy one. That can't be good for the FICO score.

I only have so many cards, and they take your card to the computer, look it up and then look up the purchase history on the card then tell you you've already purchased 2 and can't sell anymore.

is there a way around this? should i just get those little prepaid/gift cards?

its sucks because the instant ones at my bank dont have any name on them, so i guess that wont work?

Anyone have similar experiences/troubles getting iphones?

call your CC company and say you lost the card so you get a new one with a new number. usually get the new card in less than 2 weeks.

its the only way i can really see around it.

1.) Just because I am curious, why you need more than two? :p

2.) Have you tried paying cash at the Apple store?

3.) Ask someone else to buy one for you and pay them back?

I'm amazed they still have the 2 per person limit. I thought that was just supposed to be there during launch..

well they removed the limit at one point, i used to buy15 at a time (unlock and selling them as such)

apple caught wind of the unlocking then limited to 5

people kept unlocking then they limited to 2 and required credit/debit card, that way they can keep records of who purchased what.

so now, when you go in, say 'i want 2 iphones' they go to some database on the computer and check to see if you've bought any iphones at an apple store with that card, then if you have, they deny you.

you cannot pay cash (that would be great if they still allowed that)

me and my GF are going to canvas some apple stores this weekend, but still i can sell as many as I can get my hands on, so its just easy money, not like life threatening or anything.

Dudes, this is such fucking bullshit. This doesn't affect me at all, and it really will never affect me, but it infuriates the hell out of me that Apple is going this far. Can someone please explain to me what they're accomplishing by stopping people from buying their product?

Wrong. You will not get around credit reports and FICOs by claiming your card was lost.

These reports are linked to your name and social security number not something as fleeting as a credit card number. Bottom line is you are responsible for all credit in your name. There's no mulligan here.

Navy, i dont think you understand my question.

Thats not what i'm after at ALL.

i want to buy iphones from the apple store.

i would buy them from the ATT store, its just that they put an inquiry on your credit report EVERY time you buy a phone from the ATT store.

Hell, you can pay cash at the ATT store, i dont want to have my credit checked 5 times a week, as its common knowlegdge inquiries lower your FICO score.

so I'm not 100% sure what you are getting at...

I just bought 5 from the apple online store with my credit card. Have you tried this?? my father bought 10 this week on two diferent orders (using same credit card), but as of today its still possible to buy thru apple store online and get 5 for each order. They even ship real fast (2 days) and they charge 19 for shipping per each 5 you order. Maybe this may help.
