Definitive answer about danger of restoring under 7.4 (Win)?
Hi all,
There are a lot of posts here, and a lot of mixed info - so I think it would be useful if we could post under this thread the definitive answer regarding the dangers of restoring after updating to iTunes 7.4+ on Windows.
My iPhone uses a AT&T GoPhone sim card, and it was jailbroken+activated while iTunes 7.3 was installed. If I now attempt to restore under iTunes 7.4/7.4.1 - what is going to happen? Some people say it's fine, whereas others say it caused the infinite reboot issue.
IF I get the infinite reboot, is there any way to solve it under Windows? (the solutions I have read about so far all require a Mac).
Thanks!
Dave

For Windows users, is it possible to uninstall iTunes 7.4x and then put 7.3 back on? (then restore, and re-upgrade to iTunes 7.4x). Is that safe?

I did all this except re-upgrade to iTunes 7.4 (I didn't see point)

I uninstalled 7.4, installed 7.3, then I jailbroke and activated my iphone. I have currently installed 7.4 and can sync music files fine and all that good stuff, so Yeah you should be good.
I haven't seen any definitive tools that work under 7.4 for windows yet, so I would avoid restoring your iphone if possible

AppTapp will jailbreak your phone with iTunes 7.4 just fine.
