    Default Dead Iphone, battery fried

So I figured out I could plug my iphone into my ipod car charger, well well i didnt do my research and my iphone fried. anyways. i am an att customer but never activated my phone through itunes so if apple stores pulls it up it wont be activated...

is there any ideas to get around this and get a new phone ?
should I pay the 200 dollars for a new batter if there is not a way around it?
or order a batter off ebay and put it in myself?

    Hi,
if you feed in wrong voltage to the device, you will probably fry the charging circuit and not the battery, can you power up your iphone at all?
if you are sure its the battery, u can order it online, there is plenty of websites that sell ipod/iphone batteries with tools/instructions on how to change them

    good luck

How about if I have a friend who has a legit 2 year contract activate my phone to his name? Would that work? If you activate with one simcard can you activate another phone with the same sim card and just keep switching back...I do imagine that when you activate one you deactivate another..

Um, if anyone is interested in this. I took my phone to apple store in the state I was visiting, they took my phone in the back and pretty much just handed me a new one. They did not ask for a receipt, or ID. Another interesting thing is that they took my ATT sim card and put it in the phone, and it worked...when I took the phone home and put it in my computer it asked me to set up my iphone and activate it, I downgraded my phone using independence and then it was not activated...How did the apple store activate my phone using my att sim card?
