    Question Data Plans for T-Mobile (US)?

    I was wondering if anyone had recommendations or researched the current T-Mobile Data Plans in the U.S. that they are or will be using once their iPhone is unlocked. I did a quick search on the T-Mobile website and the best that I could find was a $30 data plan for Smartphones. I am not sure if the iPhone would be covered under this. Perhaps you know of a better one. Any suggestions?

    I unlocked my iphone already and thinking of getting this internet service for my iphone. http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/plans/d...8-e2bb14781ce9
    That looks like the best option imo.

    that plan will NOT let you browse the internet. you can still check emails though. My 5 year old subscribtion also gives me FREE internet while roaming as they seem to not track traffic usage on that APN

    I called T-Mobile a few days ago trying to find out which plan to get and the lady said there is a 20 dollar one that has unlimited internet that includes all data. I am not sure if the 5 buck plan will work I need to find out, but if it does ill be jumping up and down

    I too have been using the 5.99 plan with my Tmobile dash for a year now, get's web, exchange-activesync, imap...etc. Have a hard time justfying 30 bux for slow internet access.

    Here's the config settings taken from this link:
    http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1029606

    Hopefully someone with an unlocked can figure out the iphone settings to make this work....

    -------------------------------------------------BEGIN
    Internet and Networking Tweaks

    Unlimited internet with the $5.99 T-MobileWeb service
    The $29.99/month T-Mobile Total Internet package is not required to have unlimited internet access on the Dash, instead the $5.99 T-MobileWeb service is all you need. Note the following limitations to the T-MobileWeb internet service:

    1. The internet applications on your device will need to have an option to specify a connection to a proxy server, if it doesn't have this option then the application most likely will not be able to access the internet.

    2. The following applications will not work over T-MobileWeb: MSN Messenger, Agile Messenger (without the proxy option), some streaming media, Hotmail, Pocket MSN, and Java applications.

    To setup the internet connection over T-MobileWeb follow these instructions:

    1. Add the $5.99 T-MobileWeb service to your current voice plan (it may take up to 72 hours to activate, but typically takes less than 24 hours).

    2. Follow the below instructions to setup the Dash:

    Start Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> Proxy -> T-Zones Proxy setup
    Connects from: WAP Network
    Connects to: The Internet
    Proxy (name : port): 216.155.165.50:8080
    Type: HTTP
    User name: <blank>
    Password: <blank>

    Start Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> GPRS-> T-Mobile Data
    Connects to: WAP Network
    Access point: wap.voicestream.com
    User name: <blank>
    Password: <blank>
    Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
    Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
    IP address: <blank>

    Start Menu -> Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Options -> Connections
    "Automatically detect settings" is unchecked
    Select network: The Internet (Must be set to "The Internet" to work over WiFi. Try "WAP Network" if you're having trouble over the EDGE/GPRS connection)

    Start Menu -> Messaging -> Options -> Account Settings
    Network: WAP Network

    ----------------------------END
