youll never see any data with the blackberry plan. only on a blackberry
That is incorrect. The Blackberry plan works great. I am going to use the proxy and return to the $5.99 plan though. Money is money.

How much slower is it than the unlimited data plan and does the $5.99 plan include wifi?

The BB data plan didn't work for myself. I am going to be trying the total internet plan later. I can make calls, do sms but as far as data it just sits on the loader wheel. Like its trying to connect to the edge network but never does.

Are you guys setting up your APNs right when you're trying out different plans and such? See this good wiki here: http://wiki.howardforums.com/index.php/T-Mobile_APNs

Though one thing is wrong - I'm on T-Mobile Internet Addon (for $19.99, it's not $29.99) using internet2.voicestream.com, and VPN works just fine. I connected to my company and pinged something - it's good.

I have the BB data service using wap.voicestream.com and it dosn't work.

COuld it be possible that you need to have it a BB before hand to register it on the network? Cause its seams that everyone who says that the BB data service worked for them had BB before hand.

I have a Sidekick and I did not want to get rid of the data service for it. I added the Total Internet package by calling T-mobile and explaining that I wanted to be able to swap the SIM between the Sidekick and my iPhone (yes, I told them exactly what I was doing) and needed both the Sidekick data plan and the Total Internet plan. The rep said no problem and set it up. It took a couple hours for the service to start working. I swapped the SIM back into my Sidekick, and that worked as it always had (I was concerned that I might lose all my SideKick data, but didn't).

I called tmobile, and they assured me that tzones, tmobileweb and internet
will not work with the iphone, and they don't offer any plans for internet on the prepaid side for iphones.
