Okay so its been a while since the iPhone Dev Team announced that they can create their own firmware for the iPhone or firmware that the iPhone will accept without any hacking because it is signed with Apple's code. So what happened, I haven't seen any talk of them putting one out anytime soon. Whats the point of waiting for the SDK to do this? I mean we can sign any code now, so why do we have to wait for Apple... I always thought that once we accomplished this we no longer needed Apple... AT ALL. So whats going on, can someone explain a little.

i have no idea about the progress of this, but i know that when its released, if its released.. there will be a big thing about it wont there...

I think it's great that the Dev Team takes it's time to do proper testing etc. But perhaps it's possible to post a timeframe like: several weeks to go, we're waitung 'til june ...

There's already a thread in the Software Unlock sub-forum and I think, 50% of all posts wouldn't be necessary if we would know this timeframe.

I know that there are easy ways of dealing with 1.1.4 like iPlus, but I can understand that people are curious about pwnage.

you probably will wait till june, there is absolutly 0 reasons to release it now since there is method avilable for JB1.1.4 that does not work on 1.2 and pwnage does

Thats not correct. Reasons may be :

1. Using Exchange with MobileMail
2. Use 801.2x auth

etc. etc.

Just wait, trust me, you'd much rather want to use it when it's ready...

and your point is? 1.2 is comming in june for majority of people...

We might as well wait I mean we have 3 diffrent tools to choose from and we pretty much got the iPhone owned
