Default Country code in front of text numbers

    Hey Guys
I live in New Zealand and am having a weird problem with my iphone. Whenever I add someone from around here, the number is 021 XXX XXXX. But whenever I recieve a text, I get the country code first +6421 XXX XXXX, and thus the contact doesn't match up.

Is there a way around this or will I have to add the country code to everyone's number? Thanks!

    Hay man,

Im from NZ too, i had the same problem when i started using it, it still adds "()" around the first two numbers or an 021 number but not an 027 number. It still seems to send tho and my contacts match up.

I dont know if this will help but make sure you have iWorld installed it can be found in the installer, and choose NZ as your region.

    Hope this helps

    Jack

Install "PhoneNumber Dynamic Library" from http://users.skynet.be/ra045246/ and it should work. If you can give me a complete/detailed list of NZ area codes and mobile prefixes I can improve the templates for NZ.

    NZ Country Code 64

    NZ National Access Code 0

    Area Codes

9 - Northland, the Bay of Islands, Auckland
7 - Coromandel, Bay of Plenty (Tauranga), Waikato (Hamilton)
6 - Hawkes Bay, Gisborne, Palmerston North, Wairarapa, New Plymouth
    4 - Wellington
3 - The South Island (Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown, Invercargill)

When we have to call from our land lines or cell we have dial access code then area codes e.g 06 for Hawkes bay. You probly know that but just to make sure

    Cell Networks (Codes)

    Vodafone: 021 XXX XXXX

    Telecom: 027 XXX XXXX

Alot of time iPhone will place a +64 in front of numbers, the + just represents a double zero, so we see the number on our phones as +64 21 XXX XXXX (See that there is no zero before the networks code)

    Hope this helps.

What about iWorld? Isn't that meant to fix this problem? Or am I a little off track?

I know that it changes the number checking function in the iPhone to match only the last 7 digits of the number to your contact list - instead of the normal 10 digit match required.

    Without iWorld: (021) 123 4567 NOT EQUAL +6421 123 4567 (Attempts to match 10 digits)

    With iWorld: (021) 123 4567 = +6421 123 4567 (Only matches last 7 digits)

    Or am I wrong?
