Was just thinking about the last few weeks of iPhone unlock fun. Between the HW unlock, iphoneunlocking, iphonesimfree, Bladox, PSS...

My new theory is that as the impending "commercialization" of the iPhone unlock was getting closer the Dev Team may have had the free solution waiting in the wings.. only to be released as soon as commercialization started to take the wind out of selling what was most likely a solution based on a large percentage of the Dev Teams work...

Hrm...

Also just our of curiosity how much money has been donated to the Dev Team and who gets it?

I am just thinking out loud.. not trying to take anything away from the Dev Teams work... just curious thats all.

Ummm, me thinks, you may be barking up the wrong tree: prepare to put on your flame suit....if you've checked out the DevTeam's Wiki, etc. you would know that they operate in the MINUS zone.

even if they WOULD make some bucks out of this: don't you think they apreciate some payment for their endless hours?

if everyone who uses their unlock would be fair enough to donate 10$, they would receive some reward for their sleepless nights, their rings around their eyes, their red-bull investments or their bricked phones - and the donators would still have saved compated to any comercial service...

Dev Team deserves every penny. Think about it! We wouldn't be even talking about this without their time, efforts and skills. We should thank them and enjoy our iphones.

Hmm well I mathed up the donations a few ago in the dev team donations thread, also its been spend to lots of stuff surounding this, beginning by the servers which are quite plentyfull (after the sw unlock we had to add another one to the forum or it wouldn't exist anymore, to much rush here) and as we are not ad financed as we refuse this venue thing into other things like dev devices etc. which the developer may keep after all as those who got one did more work than it's worth anyways.

Under the bottom line there isn't that much left over to have a win with it all. A few will be kept for further projects if there is a plus after all.

Towards th consipracy theory things, well isn't it the nature of research success comes not all together but in parts? The discovery of TS etc. thats called evolution. That we couldn't finish before some commercial snakes did in time, well thats also nothing to brick your head about, at least we could finish in a time frame and blow the commercial sellout still in time, not even 24h late, common, we worked hard on it.

Goes to Apple.

Apple is behind the whole unlock effort.....


Learn to appreciate other works instead of "thinking"

Dev team deserves everything they can get. I think it is awesome that hackers like these guys still exist and do it 'for the love of it'.
