Yes this is a full restore.

That actually does not constitute a full restore in the way that you are thinking. I am trying to figure out how to revert to 1.0.0, to no avail.

I tried that ,you can only goto 1.01 after your on 1.02 (correct me if i'm wrong)
get the 1.01 ipsw and once ur on yellow triange press and hold shift while clicking restore a browse window will open up direct to that ipsw file and voila ! if it gives an error, restart computer and try again ,should work now,but no way to downgrade to 1.00!

Thanks again, but that doesn't do anything for me. I'm trying desperately to get this aberration fixed, and I'm starting to think the only way to do it is to somehow get back to 1.0.0.

I'm not 100% sure, but somewhere on this forum a mac user said you can alt click restore on itune and pick the FW you want and you can go back to 1.0.0. So I'm sure it'll work.
I don't see why you can't. If it fully flashes the FW there shouldn't be any issues, but you might want to see what someone who's been doing this a long time has to say about it.

what exactly do you want to do?

I think he wants to start from a fully out of a box state phone and use one of the newer meathods of unlocking. Or maybe he messed up on a set and wants to try w/ something easier with a fresh FW.

thanks..... just want to confirm if i do that (holding home button when iTunes is opened), the software unlock hacks / files will be all gone. and no one will be able to find out the phone had been unlocked before, right?!?

yes, here is what you can do.
as you mentioned you're now unlocked your iPhone, I'm gonna assume that your iphone is jailbroken+ssh+sftp, and when you say clean restore, you want your phone to back to firmware 1.02+locked status.
1. sftp to your iphone, copy bbupdater and ICE03.14.08_G.fls and ICE03.14.08_G.eep to /usr/bin, also set 755 permission to those files.
2. ssh to your iphone, and do:
bbupdater -f ICE03.14.08_G.fls
bbupdater -e ICE03.14.08_G.eep
bbupdater -v
3. put your iPhone into recover mode by holding HOME+SLEEP buttons until you see the yellow triangle.
4. connect restore your iPhone with Itunes.
and there you get your clean restored.
