Default changing root password and installing new apps

    Heya!

I was wondering... it's probably a stupid Q but still.

If I change my root password... what things should I keep in mind? like things not working with iTunes... installing apps with iBricker or Installer.app? maybe with other things?

    Thx a lot!

Not a stupid question, but one that has been answered many times.
Try to use search feature a bit before opening new threads, k?
You'll appreciate fewer threads to wade through when you're searching.

You won't have any problems after changing the root password (at least not for FW 1.0.0 - 1.0.2).

Change userid 'root' from the the default "dottie", and 'mobile' from the default "alpine".

    From iphone.natetrue.com:

Step 7: Change the root password

If you don't like 'dottie', you can generate a new encrypted password
    by running:

    perl -e 'print crypt("MYPASSWORD", "XU");'

Where MYPASSWORD is the new password you want, and XU is a random two-letter
salt. Copy the encrypted output and replace the existing one in
    /etc/master.passwd on the phone.

    You're done! Enjoy!

Or, generate your encrypted password online at:
