    Default Changing number format!

Hello, I just got my iPhone to Norway and i have some small issues with the AddressBook.
When somebody makes a call their number shows up like 12345678. But i really want it to show up like +47 12345678 ...Anyone know how i can change that. I know i have to go in the ABPhoneFormats.plist(i think) and change some stuff there but what?

    Default Phone numers format

Same problem here in Macedonia. Let me explain in details.

County code for Macedonia is 389. T-Mobile code is 70. All phone numbers are 6 digit.
Now if I want to call mobile number from Macedonia I can type any of the following:
    +38970xxxxxx
    0038970xxxxxx
    070xxxxxx

In my address book some numbers are saved like 003897xxxxxx, some like +3897xxxxxx and some like 070xxxxxx. When I am in the country caller ID is always 070xxxxxx. Now, when I receive call from someone from my Address book if I saved his/her number like 070xxxxxx I am getting his/her name. Otherwise I get only number. In other words, Address book don't lookup the name.

I have modified /Sysem/Library/Frameworks/AddressBookUI.framework/ABPhoneFormats.plist several times without any success. I am changing formats but I just cant get righ one . It's frustrating since I have lot of contacts and I know only 5-6 numbers. I am affraid that Nokia spoiled me becouse their lookup algoritam is something that you expect.

Anybody have idea how to solve this?

    Thak's,

    Kokie

Your carrier sends them that way (123456789), so you can't change a thing about that.
Search for callerid and you will find a patched appsupport that fixes caller id. But tweaking that plist will not change a thing. Your carrier sends the number, not your phone.

    Schalkse!!! Thank you....

So what u do is go to this url: http://iphone.fiveforty.net/wiki/index.php/AppSupport
And download one of the tar files....every tar file has a number. NOW, if your phone numbers are 8 digits long u choose the tar with 8 and same with all the other ones

yep, back up your original appsupport and replace it with the one you downloaded. Again, this will not fix your +XX format, just caller id. Also, to get rid of the brackets, activate international settings. Set it to your country. Search on the forum and you will find what to do with that.
