Default "Change SIN PIN" option disabled

Settings>Phone>SIM PIN>SIM PIN(Off/On) + (Change PIN) is disabled after iUnlock. Problem: I'm in a country where carrier requires SIM PIN. Have tried disabling PIN on phone to no avail.

iPhone goes into network search mode, then do nothing with a dotted line, in the place of network name. All SIM cards in this place have acted the same.

Can anybody help me out (desperately)???!!! email me if u can. thank you in advance!

Try to disable it from another phone. That is, put your SIM card in your older phone and disable the SIM card PIN. Then take it out and put it back in the iPhone. This worked for me.

I did exactly that already -- then got the dotted line (silence) result. I will love to re-enable this option since I have my SIM PIN. Question: HOWTO? Think the carriers here are strict about PIN SIM ... can't even ROAM with American (AT&T) GSM.

Thanks a million for the reply!

    Help Please!
