Does anyone know if it's possible to change the region of the wireless card?

In the US there are only 11 wireless channels and in Europe there are 13 channels.
I am sure that the US phone has only 11 channels - but the European phone should have 13 channels. (By the way can somebody confirm this?)

Why do you not just setup an AP on channel 13 & 14 and check to see if you can connect?

Or is that too much trouble and asking some else to do it from your lazy chair is easier?

Well I really had that problem and that's why I was asking. My home AP was setup to channel 13 and I couldn't connect - although with my Nokia E61 I could see the SSID.
Oh yeah, there are 13 channels in Europe not 14 and also I don't own an European phone - I just said that the US phone has 11 channels - so please don't post just to get counted.

The 802.11b standard defines a total of 14 frequency channels. The FCC allows channels 1 through 11 within the U.S.; whereas, most of Europe can use channels 1 through 13. In Japan, you have only one choice: channel 14.

Notice the "most of Europe" since in "most of Europe" [France is a notable exception, for a change] it is allowed to use ALL 14 channels.

I think if you change the Region Format in Settings > International > Region Format and restart you phone, it might change the wifi Channel numbers.
