Default Challenge for dev team: Make data appear to be Blackberry traffic

Is there any way the iPhone can be hacked so data appears to be BlackBerry traffic to a BES? AT&T has unlimited international data for Blackberrys as a $20 add-on to their BlackBerry plans, and many international carriers have unlimited BlackBerry data plans but high per kb charges on other data plans.

Thanks for all your hard work!

..interesting.. that would explain why I don't have data with my T-mobile sim and my iPhone while I'm roaming in France, but the same sim works with DATA (tested only BES email transfer) without any APN or any problem in my blackberry..

tried every APN for french operators, none of them work...

BlackBerry traffic uses the blackberry.net APN that provided by BlackBerry itself. So, there's no way we can use that APN unless authorized by RIM, such as developing a BB Connect for iPhone software. But this will need the approval and license from RIM

Absolutely. and to close this thread...

You can't get on a BES unless you have a blackberry with a unique pin.

All data on a BES actually passes thru not only the local BES server for the copy or organization, but also thru RIM's NOC. No way to "hack" a pin.... they are assigned and registered to an imei. Your looking at cloning a imei of a blackberry and transposing it on an phone, highly illegal, and somehow tricking the NOC to believe that the iphone has a pin that matches that imei.

    Not gonna happen.

Thanks, Carlos. If one weren't opposed to cloning an IMEI and associated PIN off a Blackberry that someone already owns, could this be possible?

As a potentially easier solution, is there any way to port Blackberry Connect for Symbian, Palm OS, or Windows Mobile to the iPhone without Apple's or RIM's blessing? Would Blackberry plans then see the iPhone as a BlackBerry covered under the plan, or are BlackBerry connect devices treated differently? If the latter, there's little point to this.

    Thanks!

even you can port it, how will you find out the user name and password for blackberry.net?

And no, you can't port it without RIM blessing. The BB Connect is made as a colaboration between RIM and Symbian or WM
