Carrier name question
I see that people are changing the carrier names on their phones, some even to logos. My questions is, if the ATT logo is already in the phone, how does it read T-Mobile, or whatever the sim carrier is? Or does it pick up the text from the sim, and discard the ATT logo? I am using a carrier that is neither ATT or T-Mobile, and my carrier name is showing up.
Thanks!

I don't know, but what I do know is there is a thread about it. Try using the search option. I'm sure you'll find it

Well my carrier is not in the logo list of the iPhone, so what i did is download the patched springboard and then upload a custom logo (cause if theres no logo for your carrier the iPhone just display in text your carrier network ID) in my case MX Telcel GSM and then just change the spingboard and then uploaded the new icon and voila!

The "customize" application in App Tapp will allow you to change the carrier name. I have an apple and Iphone as my carrier (it's really T mobile).

I guess you can update the carrier logo in iFuntastic too and from what I understand, you can add apps with iFuntastic without apptap, is this true? Also, to retore the originals, I assume would be just as easy?

Da Fox,
I am in the same boat so I have to load the hacked springboard. I found it in another post, but I am curious as when I downloaded it the icon that came up for it was just plain white. However, when I downloaded the original one to keep on file, the icon was a "exec" icon. I thought it was strange that they are different. Is this correct? Thanks. And is the carrier name adjustment the only difference in the springboards?

Hi,
but how to derive the carrier ID and its relation to the logo?
mine shows "T-Mobile A" (Austria).
My assumtion would be to change the file name for the logo perhaps? but then I would need to know the "technical ID" of the provider in order to rename to e.g. FSO_CARRIER_TMOBILEA.png
Or do you think it would not be that easy?
