im using a 1.1.2 jailbroken iphone. how do i change the carrier image at the top. i have plenty of options in the customize app but when i change it n my phone does its little restart thing nothing happens. how do fix this??

there is a great tutorial in the native apps section, or you can use make it mine to set the fake carrier text.

Install "make it mine" you can find it in installer.

when i go to install that it says firmware 1.1.3 is required for this version of make it mine

ya i get the same message...I was more looking for the hex edit method, it's much better IMO since you can actually see when your carrier changes (when you travel per se).

The tutorial is on iphone.unlock.no but i have no clue how to get access to the file you need to edit which is where i need help (a tutorial).

i mean it worked fine but i was a idiot and upgraded to 1.1.3 jailbroken. but before that i was on a reg 1.1.2 jailbroken and it worked fine. so i dont know what is up

YOu can change it in SSH. Instead of going into SYstem/Library/Core Services Springboard.app. you go to System/Library/Carrier Bundle and replace it there.
