Default Be careful in this forum...

    Hi All,

    You know what's odd?!?!?!!?

"jprooney" started a pool amounting to almost 100 pieces (licenses). The payment method was through PayPal as instructed. Then, I found "jprooney" putting himself/herself down for 2 licenses in a forum authored by "Trash" who started selling single licenses off of Ebay AUS.

Why would someone go thru the effort and pool together 20 some user amounting to 100 licenses and buy 2 from someone else???

That's the beauty of PayPal, you get your money back if no goods are provided.

Indeed, you have to raise a 'dispute' etc, but this has happened a few times before on eBay and I've got my money back those times - and if this is a scam by 'Trash', I'd get it back this time too.

This is the third time I've found this precise wording (idiot, it's word for word identical!!!) posted by a brand new member to the forum.

    Check out http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...?t=4447&page=3 for example.

Someone with an odd personal agenda. There are plenty of reasons why this guy might choose to buy 2 licenses of someone else's set plus try and set up a bulk purchase of his own...

Having spoken to jprooney several times today, I can say that the guy is genuine. He is eager to get the unlock for himself. He probably wants to try the software first before commiting himself to $1800, trusting that others will actually stump up the cash.

Exactly. Ignore these messages - someone is posting the same words multiple times for their own reasons.

You really might want to double check it applies to this transaction.

I know I've lost USD$1850 on paypal before and I got none of it back.

nitroburn is correct. If you're just sending money to someone else, you don't get buyer's protection from PayPal. This isn't like an eBay auction where there's a fully documented transaction taking place.
