I have an Alpine CDA-9885 with the fullspeed iPod cable and it works with my iPhone, you could also try getting a stereo with an AUX input there are lots out there now.

I have the iPod2Car kit from http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/. It's not cheap, but it hooks up to the car's factory stereo (in my case, 2001 Honda Civic). It uses controls on the stereo (forward / back) and on the steering wheel if you have a car that has them. You need the unit and a harness and for whatever reason the cable is ~20 feet long (may be helpful to some people, but just ends up being wrapped behind the dashboard on mine).

my GM trailblazer has onstar. Is there anyway of hacking in to the onstar steering wheel button and activating the built in car microphone and sending that to the iphone for phone calls and then having the speaker of the phone go to the car stereo?
