I think in this case we need some people that have used this hack to let know if they have successfully restored the iphone after the hack, then perhaps someone can list the procedure to restore the device that has been successful.

At least that way you know that it does restore and that your process in doing so is correct.

Hi. Yes, that is what I'm hoping for. I find this very strange. Anyone let us know if you were able to restore it please after using dvd jon's method. Thanks!

Hi. I erased my windows xp partition, and made a clean install of xp. then a installed itunes without any hacks. pluged in the iphone to itunes, told me to restore it, downloaded the restoration file (91.2 mb) and when restoring the phone I got the same error as before. I can try on another machine, but don't think that is the problem.

what I think might be the problem is that when I first tried the restoration, I was using a hacked itunes. probably that messed the iphone, an now when ever I try to restore it, probably itunes cannot comunicate properly with it, since it always gives me the same error.

isn't there another way to force the restoration file into the iphone? I'm kinda desperate now, since If I go to apple store for them to see whats going on, they will find out I tried a hack on it, since (correct me if I'm wrong) you can't restore your iphone unless you have activate it (which I did with dvd jon's hack) which means I dont have an account with ATT, so when they ask for my account, they'll find I have none, so they'll figure I used I hack.

maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I mean there must be a solution on why this is happening. just hope if someone can give me some feedback regarding their experiences restoring an iphone.

well thanks for the help. if anyone knows or wants me to try anything, let me know. Thanks!

hi guys. I read this similiar problema regarding ipods with itunes 7:

    http://discussions.apple.com/thread....sageID=3191414

do you think if I formatting the iphone, and then try restoring it, is a good call? since the error I'm receiving is:

"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. There is not enough memory available"

    think this might work? thanks!

Try holding the power and home buttons down for like 20 seconds. (On the iPhone).

hi, obvious question... but do you have at least 8gb free on your hdd? pref 10gb? i wouldn't say that it needs to use it all, but itunes would check your available hdd space before attempting to copy across your data from your iphone.

try allowing about 10gb or more free space on your hdd then trying again.

i think youre being paranoid. just bring it to apple and tell them its defective. theyll give you a new one. you paid$600 for it, dont worry what apple thinks about you, because they need people like you in order to make money; tell them to f*k off and give ya another or else. (its not like they can confiscate it from you or put you in jail or spit on you or ban you from the store. and if they say no, accidently knock over a macbook on the way out. i like apple, but f*k the corporation.)

btw, i cant believe you reinstalled windows for this issue...
