I just started using the V-Moda Vibe II wired headset but I usually prefer to leave the earpiece hanging from my shirt while I'm not making calls. This is because the earpiece interferes with my hearing as it blocks outside noise. The problem is I cannot hear my iPhone ringing because it only plays within the earpiece and not from the iPhone's speaker. I set my phone on vibrate but sometimes while having it on my holster and walking I cannot feel the vibration. Is there a way for the iPhone speaker ringer to work while using a headset? If not, Apple should make this an option in Preferences>Sound.

as far as i know only way is to unplug it
I've encountered this problem too, and oddly the iPhone alarm
will ring through the speaker even when headphones are plugged in
but it won't ring.
Apple should add an option for when headphones are plugged in but iPhone/iPod is not being used
rings should sound thru the speakers...
